OpenStack is a well known open source cloud platform providing compute, networking, storage, and other tools as a programmable service. While it may be best known as providing the basis for large public clouds for such vendors as Rackspace and HP, OpenStack is also very useful as a private cloud platform for nearly any sized organization.
