Challenges in Moving a Postgres DBaaS to OpenStack

Check out http://www.pgconf.us/2015/event/61/ for the full talk details. EnterpriseDB recently ported Postgres Plus Cloud Database to community OpenStack after having hosted the Cloud Database only on Amazon AWS. This presentation will describe the challenges that were encountered during this effort, including: • Implement the OpenStack tenant governance model to supplement the cross-account Policy and role model used in Amazon AWS • support both the Amazon and OpenStack networking approaches under an abstraction layer, while allowing different terminology and functionality to be present in the user interface • Change the database provisioning model from Amazon AMIs to Linux RPM-based provisioning and configuration About the Speaker Fred is the product manager for EnterpriseDB's Postgres Plus Cloud Database.
