WebAssembly: birth of a virtual ISA

WebAssembly is a new portable, size- and load-time-efficient format suitable for compilation to the web. It's efficient, fast, portable, and safe—as is the rest of the web—and the devil of how this is done is in the details. Let's walk through the diverse tech stacks which makes this possible, from high-level languages such as C++, to compilers, virtual machines, and hardware implementations. About the speaker: Ben Smith is a software engineer at Google on the Native Client team. Prior to Google he developed tools for video games.
